Balance is an Alternative Provision established to meet the needs of young people who are disengaged in a mainstream setting. We offer a combination of Academic, Vocational and Life skills, focussing on keeping a balanced Curriculum that boosts our students' Cultural Capital.

Balance is a Key Stage 3 and 4 Alternative Provision which supports students with a variety of needs and gives them a chance to be successful outside of a mainstream school setting; with the primary focus to re-engage them in their education, whilst offering respite from their mainstream setting. 

​

We offer a blend of academic, vocational and life skills curriculum, focussing on developing the “whole student” and providing them a wide range of skills and qualities, which they can then use in the wider world through our RE and PSHE Curriculum.

 

We are an OFSTED registered Alternative Provision, since October 2023.

We develop and support students holistically with their mental wellbeing and give them a wide range of behavioural strategies to successfully re-integrate back into a mainstream school setting. Balance aims to prepare students mentally, physically and socially for Post 16 provision,  a future career and the wider world of work. 

​

We offer a varied curriculum, including Construction, Hair & Beauty and Thematic, whilst still ensuring our students have Quality First Teaching in their Core subjects, of Maths, English & Science. We also engage with the Skillbuilder Programme and work with the Princes Trust, who offer a variety of trips and activities, including Animal Care.
